How to use credit and a code on one order
Check your credit balance in the promo wallet
Account → Promotions shows the balance and any expiry attached to it.
Build the cart to the code's minimum
The minimum is tested on the subtotal, not on what you pay. Credit neither helps nor hinders here.
Apply the promo code as normal
It discounts the subtotal before fees are calculated.
Let credit apply automatically at payment
There is nothing to select. Credit draws down against the final total and the remainder goes to your card.
Order the larger basket first if credit is not expiring
Credit applies in full to whatever order you place next, so using it on a small order wastes the pairing with a percentage code.
Background
How credit and promo codes combine
Order of operations. The promo code is applied to the subtotal first. Fees and taxes are calculated on the discounted figure. Then account credit is drawn down against that final total, and anything remaining goes to your card.
The minimum is unaffected. A promo code's minimum subtotal is tested against the order's food value regardless of how you intend to pay. A $30 subtotal paid entirely with credit is still a $30 subtotal for promotion purposes.
Credit sources all behave the same. Service-recovery credit, challenge credit, promotional credit grants and redeemed gift card balance all sit in the same account balance and apply identically.
Partial coverage is normal. If your credit is less than the total, the difference is charged to your card. If it exceeds the total, the remainder stays on the account for next time.
One planning note. Because credit applies automatically and in full, you cannot save it for a bigger order. If you hold credit and place a small order, the credit is spent on that order. Where the credit is close to expiry that is fine; where it is not, ordering the larger basket first extracts more value from any percentage code you also hold.
