"Not valid at this location" is the one promo error with a reliable fix: try a different branch. It means the promotion exists and you are eligible for it, but the store you selected is not participating.
The cause is franchising. A national brand's promotion is frequently funded at the franchisee level, and franchisees opt in individually. A campaign advertised nationally can genuinely be live at one branch and absent at another three miles away.
The other cause is regional scoping — a campaign allocated to specific markets. That one is not fixable by switching stores, but it is much less common.
