Monthly credit
The monthly grocery promo is a recurring credit issued to DashPass members who place grocery orders. It refreshes with the calendar month and, critically, expires at the end of it rather than rolling over.
The value is typically $5 to $10 against a qualifying grocery order of $25 to $35. It is not large, but it recurs, which makes it worth more over a year than most single promotions.
Because it resets monthly, the practical advice is simple: use it in the first half of the month. Credit that expires on the 31st is credit that expires whether or not you noticed.

Background
This is a membership benefit rather than a promotion, which means it does not occupy the promo code slot. An order can use the monthly grocery credit, a promo code, a storefront offer and DashPass fee waivers simultaneously.
Issuance is normally automatic for eligible members and appears in the promo wallet at the start of the month. Some versions require you to have placed a grocery order in the previous month to qualify for the next one.
The expiry is the trap. Unlike challenge credit, which runs 30 days from issue, the monthly grocery credit typically expires at the calendar month end regardless of when it was issued. A credit issued on the 20th may only have eleven days.
The qualifying minimum follows grocery rules: alcohol, tobacco, pharmacy items and gift cards do not count toward it. A basket that looks like it clears the threshold may not once those are stripped out.
Whether it makes DashPass worthwhile on its own is doubtful — it is a top-up to the fee waivers rather than a reason to subscribe. But for members already ordering groceries, it is free money that goes unclaimed surprisingly often.
